**A Snapshot of Your Day** As a Journeyman Mechanic you will plan and perform a wide variety of operations to rig, install, repair, maintain, and provide for the proper operation of machines and facilities installations, including structural requirements. Layout, position, erect footings, steel or other structures, beams columns, and supports used in all building alterations, and erect buildings or parts thereof. Other minor tasks which you may find yourself having to perform include: electrical, rigging, brazing, soldering, welding, pipefitting, painting, and storeroom activities. **How You’ll Make an Impact** + Diagnose, plan, layout and perform all bench, floor, machine, and electrical operations to repair and/or maintain in a good state of repair a wide variety of complicated machine tools, machinery, mechanical, and control equipment. + Check, adjust and maintain alignment of machine tools and equipment. Determine cause of trouble by examining for defects in operation, using own senses and a variety of mechanical and electrical means. + Tear down machines, dismantling wholly or partially to check for defects-using a variety of hand and power tools, including hoist and floor operated crane to remove defective parts. + Obtain or order replacement parts for machine tools and repair or produce replacements as necessary. + Perform all required lubrication on a regular assigned schedule basis, clean interior, making all necessary adjustments to insure safe, efficient operation after making repairs or replacements before reassembling components. + Setup and operate a variety of machines, such as lathes, drills, shapers, boring machines, etc., to aid in affixing special attachments-such as dogs, profiling devices, angle heads, etc., and running repaired machine or equipment on trial. Direct, assist, and instruct others in the same. + Layout, prepare, and check forms and pour concrete for all foundations. Install and repair structural steel work, erect scaffolds. Perform excavating with hand and mechanical equipment. **What You Bring** + High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required. + 2-year trade school / trade school preferred. + Journeyman credentials preferred. + 5 years' experience as an industrial mechanic in a manufacturing environment required. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
