Journeyman Millwright

We are looking for a skilled Journeyman Millwright, at our plant, you’ll work on a wide variety of systems—everything from pump systems, elevators, augers, and conveyors to motors ranging from 0.5hp to 450hp. You’ll also get your hands on compressors, airline systems, and industrial dryer and cooler setups. This isn’t just a job; it’s a playground for sharpening every aspect of your millwright skills, this is your chance to grow your craft in a hands-on, challenging environment.

Location: Surrey, BC
Shift: Rotating - 12 hours a day
Compensation: Hourly $47.84 CAD. Well-rounded company pension package including pension after the probation period

Principal Accountabilities:

Identify and correct any problems found in machines, equipment or processes in order to facilitate productionMaintain, repair and overhaul plant production equipment, building and groundsProvide quick response to trouble calls by shift supervisors and or operators/techniciansAssist Operating Engineers in maintenance of plant utilitiesPerform Weekly Preventive Maintenance Walkthroughs / Inspections / and Repairs on production equipment as necessaryAbility to put into Practice, corrective actions to effectively address reliability issues related to the above areaPerson should be willing to get trained in the following areas, airborne ultrasound, thermographyAbility to take direction from supervisors and coworkersSupport projects include working on a project team in the design, installation and commissioningMaintain complete & accurate records of shift logs, maintenance inspections and meter readingsEnsure smooth, efficient communication to the next team at shift changesActively finding new and improved ways of completing tasksParticipate collaboratively in process improvement teams as requiredAny other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications:

Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in CanadaCargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years oldHigh School diploma or equivalentBC/Interprovincial Trade Certification requiredMust be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling and pounding with hammer.Work in confined spacesAbility to lift a minimum of 50 poundsMust be able to work under special work conditions such as extreme heat or coldAbility to understand and communicate in English /verbal/written)Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.Must be able to perform maintenance trades including welding, rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems


Preferred Qualifications:

Forklift experienceAt least 2 years of experience in production related work Basic computer skillsPrevious experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning) Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)Ability to operate machinery
