Responsible for the entire sequence of cutting and welding operations for a wide variety of repair and fabrication work. Aligns and welds components of metal tools, wires, fixtures and other metal products. May utilize different types of welding systems for different tasks. Principal duties in this position are the maintenance and repair/rebuild of the following:
Car repairs involving cutting and welding on the metal jacket and other car componentsTruck assembly, gauging and replacement of parts and wear componentsReading, comprehending, and following repair orders and proceduresAdhering to health and safety standards, including Responsible Care policyAdditional related duties as assignedThe normal schedule for this role will be Monday to Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., however, the schedule may change depending on business requirements.
The starting hourly rate for this role at the Edmonton Service Centre is $38.58 and progresses to $41.51 per hour. There is an afternoon shift differential of $1.20/hour.

Legally entitled to work in CanadaJourneyman certificateMinimum 3-5 years of welding experienceAble to pass tests in 4-position SMAW, CST, at a minimum, as well as 4 position Flux core (FCAW), and using stainless steelComprehension of welding and cutting equipment in order to adjust for procedural needs, and to inspect for safe operationCompetent and safe use of shop tools and equipment: electric/pneumatic/hydraulic tools, cranes, shears, and hand toolsRailcar repair experience is an assetWHMIS trainedDetail-oriented and committed to qualityAble to work well independentlyEffective communication and organization skillsComfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, around machinery, and in conditions where there are loud noises and fumesWorks well as part of a team as well as independentlyPerforms tasks that require moderate to heavy physical exertionCompletes tasks with a sense of urgency while delivering safe and accurate resultsValid driver’s license and reliable transportation to get to and from workAdheres to Procor’s health and safety standards (including the Responsible Care policy), and wears the required personal protective equipment for the job in a safe mannerWe ask that all applicants complete and pass our full medical testing upon hire
