We are currently hiring Journeyperson Millwright to join the team at our Wynyard facility in Wynyard, SK.
Compass Minerals’ Wynyard Mechanical Evaporation Plant is located on Big Quill Lake. The plant is Canada’s largest producer of sulfate of potash (SOP). The site uses two unique processes to produce SOP: ion exchange process and glaserite process. SOP from this site is used for the pharmaceutical, medical, food and fertilizer industries, and other industrial uses.
The Wynyard Plant is located right on Big Quill Lake, in a friendly community of 1,800, situated 50 minutes from the city of Humboldt and a 2-hour drive from Saskatoon.
SUMMARY:
The Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) will report to the Maintenance Supervisor or his/her designate and be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of a variety of industrial equipment. This includes but is not limited to belt and screw type conveyors, bucket elevators, automated packaging and wrapping equipment, hydraulic presses as well as associated building infrastructure and support systems.

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Troubleshoot and operate specialized processing equipment.Repair, assemble, and/or disassemble gearboxes, pumps, and other machinery using proper specifications and techniques.Maintain valves, including packing, lubricating, and disassembly/replacement/repair.Assess general equipment condition (e.g., unusual vibration, noise, and/or heat) and report perceived problems to the proper authority.Perform routine oil changes, filter changes, inspections, and basic maintenance and repair of plant and mobile equipment.Conduct inspections related to the structural Asset Management Plan and complete follow-up repairs as assigned.Work with industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Perform all position stick and gas metal arc welding.Use plasma cutters, oxygen/acetylene torches, various power and hand tools.Operate general shop equipment (e.g., drill press, bench grinder).Work at heights using various man lifts and access equipment.Work in confined spaces.Fit and assemble machine components.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work overtime as necessary and/or rotating shifts.Perform other duties as required.Explore the potential of being part of something Clearly Essential
