Position Summary:
The Jr Maintenance Technician Intern is responsible for participating in assigned scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of production equipment. This effort includes, but is not limited to, collaboration with other Maintenance Technicians and Sr Maintenance Technicians to learn how make sure the machines are safe and operating at peak condition. This individual works with the entire plant to ensure every machine is running and the shop floor is safe.
Essential Functions:
Assists in diagnoses, repairs and tests malfunctioning equipment and machinery; Working to replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipmentProvides daily emergency and performing preventative maintenance on any machine or system in the facilityAssists in performing routine inspections to ensure safe and dependable operation of all manufacturing and electrical equipmentPerforms lockout / tag out procedures for safetyComplies with all safety norms and regulationsMaintains records of inventories and placing orders for spare parts and equipmentTracks log repair and maintenance workMonitors contractor performance and working closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specificationsAssists in the execution of all assigned maintenance area capital projectsAssists in providing preventive maintenance and repairing CNC machines, mill turn centers, metal cutting technology, modern machine tools, surface finishing machines as neededAdheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policiesEnsures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your roleRepresents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third partiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Qualifications:
Associates degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent requiredMaintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment environment preferredDirect, hands on experience with performing maintenance of various machinery preferredComputer literacy is a mustClean, organized, and possess the ability to multi-taskExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detailSelf-starterAdvanced critical thinking and problems-solving skillsProficiency in using Microsoft Office productsAbility to travel up to 15% of the timePhysical Demands:
