Jr Merchandise Assistant

**Adecco is seeking a detail-oriented Merchandising Assistant to support 2-4 Buyers and an AVP, Merchandise Manager, in various administrative and clerical duties. This role involves significant interaction with vendors, purchase order management, and collaboration with internal departments. A strong proficiency in Excel (intermediate level, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP) is required. If you are interested please read the summary and qualifications below.**
+ **Pay Rate:** $23/hour
+ **Work Schedule:** Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
+ **Assignment Type:** Temporary, with potential to convert
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Purchase Orders:**
+ Prepare, write, and revise domestic and import purchase orders; ensure accuracy and timely processing.
+ Collaborate with the Planning & Allocation (P&A) team to expedite purchase order entry.
+ Monitor purchase orders for accuracy, ensuring all ASN/EDI information is up-to-date.
+ Review and address late purchase orders, including communicating with vendors and renegotiating costs as needed.
+ Assist with merchandise shipment follow-ups and resolve discrepancies related to shipments or costs.
**Vendor Communication:**
+ Communicate daily with vendors via phone and email regarding purchase orders, allocations, and problem-solving.
+ Schedule vendor appointments, handle inquiries, and maintain vendor databases to ensure accuracy.
**General Office Duties & Special Projects:**
+ Manage filing, photocopying, and faxing of purchase orders and departmental forms.
+ Organize weekly reports, including Buyer Control Files and On-Order Inquiries.
+ Coordinate travel arrangements for merchants and schedule vendor and agent visits.
+ Handle pre-production/production sample processes, including receipt tracking, display setup, and maintenance of sample binders.
+ Organize and maintain sample rooms, ensuring timely receipt and return of vendor samples.
+ Perform special projects, including pulling sales data and creating weekly spend spreadsheets.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ **Experience:** 1+ year of administrative or clerical support, preferably in a merchandising or buying environment.
+ **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
+ **Skills:**
+ Proficiency in **Microsoft Excel** , including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
+ Strong communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
+ Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
+ Familiarity with purchase order systems is a plus.

**Pay Details:** $23.00 to $25.00 per hour
