Jr Sous Chef

Summary:
Knob Hill Golf Club caters to a diverse membership and hosts all types of banquet events (weddings, golf outings, member events, bat mitzvahs, showers, meetings, etc.) We also have a full bar inside the clubs restaurant, The Sycamore Grille. We are open all year and are open to the public.
 

We are looking for an enthusiastic professional to join our team. The Jr Sous chef would work directly with the Executive Chef to maintain the flow of the kitchen during service and banquets. Ideal candidate should be highly motivated, skilled and comfortable running all stations of the kitchen. They should have the proven ability to establish excellent working relationships with various team members and has a high drive to learn. Candidate will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the main kitchen and act as Chef on duty as needed.

Responsibilities:

Capable of preparing and working all kitchen stations when needed.
  Assist in banquet preparations.
  Assist in creating prep lists, maintaining cleanliness, and supervise staff.
  Maintain standard of food quality, cost, appearance and flavor.
  Assist Executive Chef in discipline and training.
  Assist Executive Chef with the ordering and receiving of all kitchen related goods.
  Ensure all food is neatly and properly stored.
  Assist in ordering and taking inventories.
  Participate in development of menus and specials.
  Follow all state and local health and safety guidelines and regulations.
  Assists with other duties as instructed by the Executive Chef.
 

Salary: 60-65k

Graduated from an accredited culinary program

  Ability to work well under pressure

  Great verbal communication skills
  Must maintain proper grooming and hygiene
  Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  Must be able to work in excessive heat associated with kitchen environments
