Jr Sous Chef

We seek a skilled Junior Sous Chef/Kitchen Manager to join our team at Sun Peaks. This role involves assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and managing inventory. Compensation Information: $28.95 per hour

Physical Requirement:

Heavy, work activities involve handling loads of more than 20 kg, predominately in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Accountabilities:

Oversee all aspects of food preparation and delivery in the assigned kitchen Supervise all cooks in the assigned kitchen Maintain health and safety records Conduct daily shift briefings with the Culinary Team Ensure timely delivery of quality food products

Ideal Candidate:

3-5 years of previous culinary experience, preferably within a Hotel/Resort environment One year of production and Banquet experience is a plus Working towards a career in culinary arts Holds a Red Seal Certification or a degree in Culinary Arts Holds a Food Safe Level 1 Certification (Level 2 is a plus) Has a complete understanding of all aspects of kitchen operations
