The Jr. Analyst Intern, Product Management role is responsible for helping clients build sound business cases for technology solutions, transform concepts into detailed business requirements, ensure the functional specifications, capture the essence of the solution, develop test scenarios, and document business procedures. They will also help with creating internal productivity tools, training documentations and user guides. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in shaping the future of technology solutions within our organization.
Summer Internship: May 2025 - August 2025
Key Job Functions/Responsibilities
Engage with external users to identify key business challenges and gather detailed requirements for new software applications.
Conduct meetings with internal stakeholders and potentially external partners such as CDS, TSX, vendors, and others, to gain deeper insights into business issues.
Analyze and prioritize conflicting requirements across different user groups and develop comprehensive functional requirement documents (FRDs).
Collaborate closely with the development team on assigned initiatives, guiding and prioritizing development efforts within your product areas.
Document and present your findings and solutions in a format that is understandable and actionable for both customers and the development team.
Serve as a product owner by monitoring the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure seamless implementation from conception through to completion.
Perform unit testing on all new system enhancements conducted by the development team.
Review completed products with customers to verify that all business requirements have been satisfactorily met.
Implement internal productivity tools to help increase team effectiveness
Maintain and create documentations on Confluence
Basic Skill Level Requirements
Education:
Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year Computer Science, Business Administration or related University Degree or College Diploma program
Training in system integration life cycle methodologies is an asset
Business Skills/Tools:
Design Skills, data modeling, process modeling, knowledge of wireframes and prototyping
Proficiency in MS Office suite of applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Proficiency in SQL, Java, JavaScript and/or LLM would be beneficial
Testing, development of functional business test cases, and building test plans
Personal Skills:
Analytical and interpersonal skills including building consensus, negotiation, and facilitation.
Strong communication skills: client interviewing, business writing, developing, and delivering presentations
