Jr. Applications Content and Data Intern (SUMMER 2025) (PART-TIME)

We provide hundreds of service programs, including those for seniors and people with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, and those recovering from addiction. VOA is one of the nation’s most comprehensive human services charities, offering programs for communities, individuals and families. 

VOA is seeking a Jr. Applications Content and Data Intern.  The selected candidate will be an integral member of the Information Technology (IT) Team, working with cross-functional teams and departments to provide resources and information for VOA employees in over 400 communities nationwide. The person in this role will be a dynamic self-starter to assist in designing, implementing and maintaining applications content and data. They must excel in written and verbal communication, be familiar with the Microsoft 365 suite of applications - including Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, Directory Services - and manage multiple assignments from start to finish as well as being able to learn new areas.

This position extends the opportunity for part-time hours (up to 24 hours per week) and is completely On-Site

The internship is unpaid, however, a stipend is provided 

Primary Responsibilities:

Assisting in the creation, customization and editing of online applications content and data content, including supporting the rollout of document management and collaboration sites for all communities Assisting with testing, bug tracking, task management, reporting and troubleshooting on SharePoint and custom application development projects Collaborate with various community stakeholders to define requirements, analyze current as-is state and determine site needs Work with stakeholders to understand content needs and requirements Lead the design, organization and implementation of various communities on the site Manage and track the status of the project Provide clear and effective communication to align stakeholders

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and TEAMS Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Basic understanding of organizational management and flow Ability to proactively organize, prioritize and multitask effectively Excellent communication skills and self-motivated Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and management  Has insatiable curiosity and a willingness to learn

Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs. Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods
