Jr. IT MES Admin
Description We are looking for a Junior MES Administrator to support, maintain, and optimize our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) in a high-tech, automated manufacturing environment. This role will assist in MES configuration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency, data accuracy, and system reliability. You will work closely with IT, automation, and production teams to ensure seamless communication between MES, ERP, and shop-floor automation systems. System Administration & Support • Assist in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the MES software and its integration with PLCs, SCADA, and ERP systems. • Monitor MES system performance, availability, and data integrity, ensuring minimal downtime. • Provide first-line support for MES-related issues, escalating complex problems when necessary. • Work with IT and production teams to implement MES updates, patches, and enhancements. Data Management & Reporting • Ensure accurate data collection, validation, and processing within MES for real-time production tracking. • Assist in generating and maintaining OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) reports, downtime analysis, and production KPIs. • Support the development of custom reports, dashboards, and analytics tools for manufacturing insights. Integration & Continuous Improvement • Assist in MES-ERP integration and data exchange for accurate production planning and tracking. • Work with engineers and automation teams to optimize MES connectivity with PLCs, SCADA, and IIoT devices. • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas where MES functionality can enhance operational efficiency. • Test and validate new MES configurations, workflows, and automation rules before deployment. Training & Documentation • Support the creation of user guides and SOPs for MES functionalities. • Assist in training operators, engineers, and IT staff on MES-related workflows and troubleshooting. Skills application support, End user integration, End User Creation, MES, database system, .NET interfacing, oracle database, OPC/UA Additional Skills & Qualifications Required • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or a related field. • 0-2 years of experience in MES administration, IT support, or manufacturing technology roles. • Basic understanding of MES, SCADA, PLCs, and ERP systems in a manufacturing environment. • Familiarity with SQL databases and ability to query MES data. • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and troubleshooting capabilities. • Understanding of manufacturing workflows, production tracking, and OEE principles. Preferred • Experience with specific MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Ignition, Aveva Wonderware, or others). • Exposure to IIoT, OPC UA, Modbus, or other industrial networking protocols. • Knowledge of basic scripting (Python, VBScript, or SQL scripting) for automation tasks. • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with high-tech or automated production lines. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.50 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
