SIG has a Junior Security Engineer job opening at our headquarters in Bala Cynwyd, PA, just minutes from Center City Philadelphia. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and managing the firewalls and technologies that protect our production environment from information security risks. You will support our daily operations by responding to issues, executing production changes and upgrading the firm’s security infrastructure to meet business needs. As you evaluate current security risks, you will identify appropriate security controls and implement them into our environment. You will also participate in enterprise-wide projects to deploy new security technologies that will continue to protect our firm.

What we're looking for
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a network, security and/or systems administration function, or a similar role, required
Minimum of 3 years of firewall administration experience required
Experience with at least one of the following required: email and web security, VPNs, intrusion detection, vulnerability & risk assessment, encryption, virus/worm prevention, E-business & web application technologies, and/or two-factor authentication
An understanding of IP routing and switching required
Strong grasp of TCP/IP concepts and experience using network troubleshooting tools and techniques required
Demonstrated experience with either Windows and/or Linux/UNIX server support required
Programming, web development, and database experience (especially with any of the following or similar technologies: Python, Perl, Shell, MySQL, Microsoft SQL, or similar database technologies and PHP) a plus
Understanding of cryptography as it relates to computer, application and network security preferred
Bachelors degree in a technical discipline preferred
