Nightwing brings disruptive technologies, agility, and competitive offerings to customers in the intelligence community, defense, civil, and commercial markets. **Nightwing, a $1.8 billion intelligence services company, is seeking to hire a detail-oriented and motivated** **Junior** **Accountant** **to join our general ledger group.** **Initially, this role will focus on (1) account reconciliations, analysis, and research, limited journal entry preparation, and other efforts to prepare for our 2024 external financial statement audit; (2) supporting several system implementations by participating in process design, testing, and training; and (3) process and control alignment across the enterprise. Once these systems are established, this role will play a crucial role to ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and effective management of our accounting processes. This role requires adaptable capacity to develop effective professional relationships within the broader finance organization.** **Key Responsibilities** **Prepares account reconciliations and propose resolution options to identified discrepancies.** **Execute general ledger activities to support monthly accounting close processes, including preparing general ledger journal entries for submission and posting; Maintain accounting records, files, and documents per company policy.** **Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information.** **Support project account set up or maintenance processes, as required.** **Applies GAAP accounting principles to day-to-day tasks.** **Support audit activities, both internal and external, by providing necessary documentation and information.** **Perform ad-hoc analysis and tasks as assigned by the Accounting Manager.** **Required Skills** **Two (2) years of related professional experience with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, preferably in a government contracting and/or public accounting environment.** **Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills are vital to this role, as is the demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.** **Basic understanding of US GAAP.** **Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.** **Experience with large-scale ERP systems.** + Must be able to work on site / Hybrid **US Citizenship.** **Desired Skills:** **Deltek Costpoint knowledge and practical experience is desired** **Active CPA license or desire to pursue CPA/CMA certification.** **Previously part of a leading Fortune 100 company and headquartered in Dulles, VA; Nightwing became independent in 2024 but continues to support the nation’s most mission impactful initiatives.** **When we formed Nightwing, we brought a deep set of credentials and an unfaltering commitment to the mission.
