Key Responsibilities
+ Bookkeeping and Data Entry
+ Accurately record financial transactions in accounting systems (Source: Robert Half Salary Guide).
+ Maintain, update, and organize financial records.
+ Bank and Account Reconciliations
+ Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to ensure data accuracy.
+ Investigate and resolve discrepancies or irregularities.
+ Financial Reporting Assistance
+ Help prepare financial statements under the guidance of senior accountants, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
+ Compile and summarize financial data for use in management reports.
+ Accounts Payable and Receivable
+ Process invoices, track payments, and manage billing records.
+ Assist with managing incoming payments and collections.
+ Tax Support
+ Support the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
+ Research basic tax laws or regulatory changes as directed by senior staff.
+ Compliance and Internal Controls
+ Ensure financial practices comply with company policies and applicable regulations.
+ Assist in improving financial processes and procedures as needed (Source: Methodology RH Large Language Models).
+ Administrative Support
+ Assist with audits by gathering necessary documentation.
+ Perform general clerical tasks such as filing, data organization, and maintaining financial records.
Requirements
+ Education
+ A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required.
+ Ongoing studies toward certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are a plus.
+ Technical Proficiency
+ Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., creating spreadsheets, formulas, and pivot tables).
+ Soft Skills
+ Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in recording data and identifying discrepancies.
+ Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
+ Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to interpret financial data and make recommendations.
+ Teamwork and Communication: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
+ Experience
+ Internships or academic-related accounting experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
