Junior Business Analyst @MMCTech

The Business Analysis team is an integral part of our wider Software Engineering Team, playing a pivotal role in the success of our flagship product, Darwin™. Collaborating closely with domain experts, we gather and define business requirements, address usability concerns, and document solutions. We aim to establish a shared understanding of each feature, including its purpose, the business problems it resolves, and the technological solutions it entails.

As a Junior Business Analyst, you'll act as a crucial liaison between the Product Team and Software Engineering Team, translating high-level requirements into detailed specifications. With experience, your responsibilities will expand to collaborating with a broader range of stakeholders across the business, taking on tasks beyond core feature development. This may involve activities such as Business Process Modeling, Process Mapping, Market Analysis, and Data Analysis.

Under the mentorship of senior Business Analysis professionals, you'll play a vital role in the product development and design process for various projects. You'll have the opportunity to work across different product areas within DARWIN, enhancing your Business Analysis skills and working towards becoming a Subject Matter Expert in specific areas of the product.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & VALUES

Responsibilities:

Evaluate and verify new functionalities, software improvements, and bug fixes by conducting thorough analysis and serving as a liaison between the Product Team and Software Engineering, ensuring clear dissemination of product information through User Stories in JIRA.Ensure requirements are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound (SMART).Validate UX designs to ensure all User Flows align with requirements.Challenge stakeholders during requirement elicitation to ensure fairness, logic, and specificity, with agreed trade-offs if necessary.Monitor and manage changes to baseline requirements using tools like JIRA and Confluence.Collaborate with the Product Owner to assist in Backlog grooming, User Story development, and prioritization.Support technical teams throughout the development cycle to ensure requirements are properly understood, implemented, and tested.Participate actively in project walkthroughs, business requirements gathering, design walkthroughs, implementation sessions, and retrospectives.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in technology, software engineering or other related field;1-2 years of IT Business Analysis experience;Strong communication skills – able to communicate clearly, effectively and promptly;Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills - able to analyse and solve problems, with a high attention to detail;Strong written and spoken English.Self-starting - takes independent action and goes beyond what the job or situation requires.Deal with workload peaks without compromising standards.

Desirable

Experience in working with Agile Scrum teams;Previous working experience in HR Tech, and SaaS products.Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence and MS Visio or other similar tools.Skilled at flowcharting and Business Process diagrams.Good understanding of all disciplines in the wider technology team and sufficient understanding of technical language, that will help build strong relationships and partnerships across the Technology team;
