**Description** SAIC is seeking **Junior Computer Engineers** to support the US Navy in **Middletown, RI** **JOB DESCRIPTION** : Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that require low-level control processing (Interrupts, Timers Digital I/O and serial communication protocols) for electronic, electro-mechanical, or electro-optic equipment. Develops embedded software for use on real-time and near real-time operating systems and processors including networking and radio systems. Requires basic knowledge of reading schematics of complex electronic assemblies. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. **JOB DUTIES** : + Reviewing project requirements and documentation + Documenting work + Attending team meetings to discuss progress + Collaborating with other engineers on code reviews + Collaborating with multidiscipline teams for system interaction + Designing system architecture + Writing code in various languages like C++, C, or Verilog + Troubleshooting system issues and debugging code to fix errors (Could be within an IDE or IDP/Hardware) + Testing functionalities (System integration testing or Unit testing) + Travel to offsite/field location for hand-on system testing/integration **Qualifications** **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE** : + BS in Electrical or Computer engineering and 0 years’ experience + Embedded programming/debugging, Embedded C, C++, Verilog + Candidate must be a US Citizen + Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
