The Defense Health Agency (DHA) is responsible for the effective execution and operation of the Department of Defense (DoD) medical mission, which is to provide medical services and support to specified categories of individuals entitled to DoD medical care. The DHA provides medical care for the DoD’s 9.6 million eligible beneficiaries is provided through the defense health program which includes contracted health care networks and military treatment facilities. To qualify, a candidate must possess: + A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field, that includes or is supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods or organization. + Minimum 2 years of experience serving as a Federal government and/or contractor employee in the GS-1102 series or equivalent capacity as a contract specialist/administrator or procurement analyst. + Knowledge of the federal acquisition process. + Knowledge of contracting principles, laws regulation and procedures. + Knowledge of methods and techniques of fact-finding, analysis, and resolution of complex problems, and the ability to develop concrete action plans to solve problems. + Familiarity with price and cost analysis principles. + For the Falls Church position, contract writing system PD2 experience preferable, but not required. + Excellent written and oral communications skills and be proficient in MS Office Products, MS Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
