Junior Cost Accountant

The Junior Cost Accountant plays an essential role in supporting and executing the company vision by ensuring accurate information is provided for transfer pricing and costing on new product innovations and campaign ranges. You will understand business operations within Manufacturing and ERP systems to play an integral role in the process of setting up new items alongside the Business Process team and Production staff. You will ensure information is accurate, relevant, and actionable while being understood by a wide audience of stakeholders.

You will be comfortable regularly interacting with all levels of staff and provide them with accurate and clear data to support with reporting and analysis. Reporting to the FP&A Manager - Manufacturing, the Junior Cost Accountant will undertake the following responsibilities:

Responsible for accurate and timely setup of costing and transfer pricing on new products as a part of the product launch cycle to ensure products are launched on time with correct information. Responsible for post-launch analysis of new product launches, seasonal, and campaign ranges to identify areas of improvement for production performance and financial forecasting. Support Manu Finance team with reviews and analysis on costing of non-material items of overheads, freight, moulds, and other allocations. Support Sr Cost Accountant on updates of costing standards to ensure correct labour and material costs. Support the Business Process team with setups and reviews of labour routings Support reviews of metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to find actionable opportunities for stakeholders and educate the business on how those metric drive financial improvements. Improve finance knowledge across the business by effectively communicating financial concepts that can be easily understood by all stakeholders. Proactively seek opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency of processes and deliverables. Provide support for any ad-hoc analysis projects, modelling, and presentation materials as required.

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

1-2 years of Manufacturing Support or related experience. Strong time management skills and ability to work calmly under pressure to achieve deadlines. Detail orientated and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously Strong presentation and communication skills. A proven, collaborative, and inclusive approach to business support. Strong proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel. Pro-active approach and initiative. Excitement and commitment to learn, understand, and relate to Lush’s core brand values.

Preferred:

1-2 years experience in accounting/finance facing role or equivalent work experience Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX (or other ERP) and/or Adaptive forecasting software considered an asset. Experience in dashboarding, analysis and visualizations through PowerBI.

Job Type: Regular, Full Time role.

Location: Successful candidate must be located in or around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days/week in office required.
