About the job:
Kent is looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to be based in Houston, Texas.
You will be part of our Kent Houston Offshore Engineering Team involved the detailed design of new offshore fixed and floating facilities for oil and gas or renewable energy projects and designing upgrades and solving challenging problems for our clients’ existing onshore and offshore assets.

The Junior Electrical Engineer will work as part of the team to complete primary and secondary project tasks under close supervision and mentoring by the Project Lead or Manager and may be assigned to small scale projects.
Skills and Responsibilities: Compiles and maintains project databases, configuration data, and documentation under direct supervision of Senior Level Engineer(s) or Manager(s). Participates in project meetings and/or site visits to gain experience as requested by the Project Lead. Supports Engineers in the compilation of data and preparation of reports for various activities. Learns about Kent procedures and project execution methodologies through mentoring of Senior Level Engineers, self-study as assigned and direct project experience. Participates in in-house and external training and learning activities as directed by Mentor. Learns to work cooperatively and efficiently as a member of the project team as assigned by the Project Lead/Manager or Mentor. Understands and follows safe work practices. Performs other tasks as assigned. In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience: Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification: Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical Engineering. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire. Skills Requirement: Basic knowledge of engineering concepts and ability to apply knowledge to complex problems. Computer skills and application of software programs. Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices. Ability to develop effective planning, project, and organizational skills. Self-starter. Multi-task capability. Team player. Upholds professional ethics and standards of conduct. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure for quick-reaction projects. Communication:Oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing). The ability to create graphical representations and PowerPoint slide packs.
