(Junior) Entry Wireless Engineer

Description Narrative:
Performs in the capacity of a RF engineer. Responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, optimization and enhancement of wireless telecommunications networks. Responsibilities include link budgets analysis, system dimensioning for coverage and capacity including traffic analysis, initial system design and dimensioning, coverage planning, site identification, evaluation and zoning support, frequency planning , interference analysis and optimization.
Provides technical direction and engineering knowledge for communications activities including planning, designing, developing, testing, installing and maintaining large communications networks. Will answer technical questions as well as day to day operational questions.
Ensures that adequate and appropriate planning is provided to direct building architects and planners in building communications spaces and media pathways meet industry standards.
Provides complex engineering or analytical tasks and activities associated with one or more technical areas within the communications function.
Prior experience working with Public Safety 700 / 800 Mhz systems preferred
Prior experience working with one, or all, of the following Commercial Carriers preferred (AT&T Mobility, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless)
Prior experience working with secure WiFi preferred
Will be required to initiate contact with many levels of technology specialists across the District to gather data as well as explain value of Citywide Wireless, as a service, delivered in concert with DC-Net / OCTO and other stakeholders (agencies, contractors, other).
Must be willing to move around the District to visit any DC Agency.
