Job Description

The Junior Environmental Scientist contributes to the development of technical proposals. Develops assigned sections of EIA/ESIA studies, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and Environmental project models as per specific discipline requirement and exports draft and final environmental reports under the supervision of an experienced Engineer/Environmental Scientist/ Environmental Manager.

Technical Excellence:

Contributes to the development of technical proposals.Develops assigned sections of EIA/ESIA studies, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and Environmental project models as per specific discipline requirement and exports draft and final environmental reports under the supervision of an experienced Engineer/Environmental Scientist/ Environmental Manager.Assists with the design/report content by applying both design and technical and legislative knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule.When required, collects, analyses and integrates information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project data sets Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering/ environmental problems and report writing.Coordinates with other discipline Engineers/ Scientists as applicable for the continuity of the Environmental study process.Participates in study evaluation progress and coordination meetings.Checks and ensures the quality of the model, survey and study teams for accuracy to reporting requirements.Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments.

Client Relationship Management:

Begins to participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain/defend work, etc

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor of Science/Arts or Engineering from an accredited University.Registered or qualify to register as candidate  Scientist with SACNASP and EAP with EAPASA.3+ years relevant experience
