Junior Estates Officer HVAC
Job Introduction

Job Summary

As Junior Estates Officer (HVAC) at Manchester Foundation University Trust, you’ll be the key person overseeing the maintenance and management of critical engineering systems across the Trust’s facilities. You’ll ensure all maintenance activities, including contract work, meet high-performance standards and comply with relevant legislation. Your expertise will be essential in managing complex HVAC systems, planned maintenance programmes, and asset registers. You’ll oversee minor schemes and capital works, ensuring smooth operations for critical systems like 88 AHUs, BMS systems, microbiological safety cabinets, clean rooms, and LEV systems. Join us and play a vital role in maintaining high standards across our healthcare environment, ensuring optimal performance and safety for all.

 

What you’ll do:

Directly manage HVAC maintenance teams, providing technical guidance and support. Work closely with Capital Projects, Estates personnel, and non-technical staff to exchange information and ensure smooth operations. Communicate regularly with Heads of Departments, Nursing Officers, and staff. Manage contractors ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, Health & Safety, and relevant codes of practice. Maintain strong working relationships with managers and staff at all levels within Sodexo and the Trust. Participate in the Estates on-call roster and cover absent colleagues as needed. Monitor compliance with engineering safe working practices in line with legislation and guidance. Oversee the Planned Preventative Maintenance System, ensuring it meets current regulations and is regularly updated. Maintain comprehensive records of all engineering plant, equipment, and services to ensure regulatory compliance.

What you bring

willing to work towards or currently working towards HNC level or equivalent in a relevant building discipline. Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the maintenance in a mechanical disciple Including apprenticeships. Experience in the management of contracts and contractors. Understanding of Health & Safety legislation Numerate with the ability to manage budgets. Experience working towards deadlines.
