Role description:
This role is part of Arcadis’ Global Excellence Centre (GEC) and will join our 3,000+ talented individuals working in India, Romania, and Philippines, in partnership with Arcadis’ offices globally. The GEC brings key capabilities and capacity to support our clients seamlessly around the world. Role accountabilities:
Working with geographical information systems, standards, technologies, and data.
Transform spatial data between different data sources and/or formats.
Performing spatial analysis to address business questions and requirements.
Create and modify GIS datasets, manage, and maintain GIS datasets, develop, and implement GIS-based analyses supporting asset management.
Produce technically skilled and detailed solutions to prepare clear, complete, and accurate representations of spatial data.
Develop and maintain geospatial data on desktop and mobile applications. Ensure data meets appropriate data accuracy and content standards for quality assurance and quality control.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in geomatics, geography, surveying, engineering, or related field.
Profound GIS knowledge, as a GIS specialist is expected to work with various GIS tools ESRI, QGIS.
Ability to pay particular attention to details to work with databases and analyze information.
Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work with departmental staff and the management.
High analytical thinking to effectively analyze information.
Experience using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, or another web mapping system.
Communicate with project team members and other stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and desired outputs.
Compile, manipulate, and refine geographic data from a variety of sources including but not limited to, CAD, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.
Nice to have:
Previous work in/familiarity with consulting engineers and/or surveyors
Experience using AutoCAD and DWG files.
Experience using Google Earth and KMZ files.
Familiar with LiDAR datasets and usage.
Experience using FME, Python, Model Builder or another common GIS scripting language is desirable, as job duties will include creating scripts to streamline frequently performed tasks.
