Junior Graphic Designer/Publisher -- Intern

In this role, you'll support the design and development of visually compelling graphics and layouts for our proposals targeting federal, state, and local government clients, as well as commercial sectors. Together, we strive to deliver winning solutions in response to our clients' Requests for Proposals (RFP) and ensure the APTIM brand remains at the forefront of innovation. As part of our creative team, you'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating dynamic graphics and brand assets, as well as desktop publishing for our proposal efforts. **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + Catalog, tag, and upload images into the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system to maintain organization and easy access. + Design proposal covers, charts, data visualization, infographics, technical graphics, and other visual elements under the guidance of senior designers and others. + Participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing ideas to enhance design and layout concepts. + Sketch and conceptualize ideas to support design development. + Learn and apply print and digital media standards (e.g., RGB and CMYK color modes), assisting with preparing final files for production. + Support design production by reviewing, preflighting, organizing, and preparing files for final output and delivery. + Assist with formatting and graphics for PowerPoint presentations. + Update templates and format multipage proposals in Microsoft Word (primary) and Adobe InDesign (secondary) to ensure consistency across all proposals and meet RFP requirements. + Participate in production/graphics meetings and assist with the production process in Word and InDesign. + Assist with physical production tasks such as printing, assembling binders, and packaging. **Basic Qualifications:** + Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field + Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) + Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) + Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment + Ability to give, receive, understand, and apply feedback quickly + Interest in logo design and brand creation + Willingness to learn about the proposal development process + Familiarity with accessible design standards or a desire to learn + Enthusiasm for emerging design trends and technologies, including AI tools, with a willingness to share knowledge with the team + Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks effectively + Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed + Online portfolio showcasing design work or work samples upon request + Position pays between $20-24 per hour **Additional Desirable Basic Qualifications:** + Photography experience (headshots and/or product photography) **Who we are and what we do:** APTIM is a global industry leader headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
