Junior Information Systems Security Officer

The Leidos Intelligence Group has a career opportunity in Columbia, MD. for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). We are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environments and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organizational skills.  

Primary Responsibilities

Assists with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system.Monitor and report security incidents and vulnerabilities.Perform regular security audits and assessments.Support the Lead ISSO with preparation and maintenance of security documentation, including System Security Plan (SSPs).Collaborate with IT team to ensure security measures are integrated into system design and operations.Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and best practicesFamiliarity with controlling, labeling, virus scanning, and appropriately transferring data (uploading/downloading) between information systems at varying classification levels.Ensuring all users have the requisite security clearance, authorization, and need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before they are granted access to the Information System.Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Possess a current DoD 8140.03 compliant certification for IAM Level IBasic understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) cyber security requirements and guidance, cyber security related risk management techniques.Must be able to work well within a team environment and able to adapt quickly to change.Possess good social skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees.Customer service skills both verbally and writtenCompleted at least 60 credit hours or more towards a Bachelor’s degree in Information System Security, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Technology or related discipline, or 1 – 2 years or additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Must Have an Active Current Top Secret clearance with SCI w/poly to be considered for this role.Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.Experience conducting security audits of information systems.Current DoD 8140.03 compliance with IAT Level I or higher (e.g., Security+, CASP, CISM or CISSP).Vulnerability assessment and analysis experience utilizing SCAP, NESSUS and DISA STIGs.Experience with DoD implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and governing directives (NIST, CNSS, DSS, etc.).

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
