Role description:
We are seeking an entry-level or junior Mechanical Engineer to support the design and engineering team within the Resilience global business area. Primary focus includes HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design. We are committed to supporting work flexibility in the way of location and work schedules. This can accommodate a flexible work schedule. In Engineering, you'll create some of the world’s most iconic and ground-breaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us, from making journeys easier to opening up public places that bring people together.
As a mechanical engineer, you will work with project teams, other junior and senior engineers, project managers, and clients designing HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems on various projects. Specifically we are seeking experience with design of these specialty project types: Water/Wastewater, Municipal market, Industrial market, Large Manufacturing Facilities, and/or Life Sciences Facilities. You will be responsible for supporting design efforts and assisting the senior engineer.

Role accountabilities:
HVAC, plumbing and fire protection design for municipal and industrial water / wastewater facilities Develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination Design for available capacity, redundancy, reliability, efficiency, and safety, as well as constructability and cost Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for system studies, system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as ASHRAE, ASME, SMACNA, IECC, ANSI, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN Support proposal efforts to win design workWhile this is an entry-level position with minimal experience, we are seeking a candidate who is familiar with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design and modeling using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Trane Trace. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, along with some experience in developing solutions for complex projects. Knowledge of system studies related to thermal comfort, indoor air quality, humidity control, and energy management is also required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as good technical writing skills, are essential. Proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with Bluebeam are preferred. The candidate will have the opportunity to receive mentorship from senior staff and should have basic HVAC calculation skills using Excel.

The salary range for this position is $65,000- $97,500 Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
