Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Junior/Medior Software Developer to join our team at our Data & AI (D&A) team at DXC Technology. The D&A offering plays a critical role in enabling businesses to leverage 'real world' data and information through the seamless integration of connected devices into their operational ecosystems.
Within the VZVZ account focus area, you will ensure, the secure transfer of medical (patient related) data between the various health-providers, by maintaining and guarding the systems that will make these transfers possible. You will contribute to keeping the environment up to date and participate in expanding and keeping track of performance issues using monitoring tooling and ticketing system.
This role focuses on developing high-quality Linux solutions that meet the evolving needs of our client on shore as well in the cloud (Azure). As part of our team, you will contribute to the install, setup, maintain the systems, with emphasis on latest practices and cloud techniques. The roles include working closely with the best shore and assisting them in there day to day activities.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with team members to meet project goals, taking direction from senior team members.
Learn and grow within the Linux engineering field by actively participating in training and mentoring programs.
Participate in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Support the documentation of software requirements and specifications.
Work on diagnosing and resolving production issues, with support from senior team members.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices, seeking opportunities for professional development.
Contribute to knowledge sharing and learning within the team.
Proven experience with one of the following:
Linux (RedHat versions 6-9)
Vsphere and ESX VM’s
Azure services related to vHosts
Containerization (docker/podman)
Backup / restore (Veritas / Azure backup/snapshots)
Good to have a basic understanding of (one or more of) the following:
Network functionalities (e.g. routing/firewalls/LoadBalancers etc.)
RHEL DNS, MTA (mail), Ldap/slapd, Satellite server, HAProxy
Monitoring Zabbix, syslog services, security (Symantec endpoint protection)
Elastic stack and Kibana
Life cycle management and patching (including leap upgrades)
Windows PowerShell scripting, AD and DNS
Databases (MySQL and/or Postgres is a bonus)
Apache and tomcat
GITLAB basic knowledge
ansible playbooks
Basic Qualifications:
Languages: Proficiency in Dutch & English.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Typically, 1 year of relevant work experience in industry in a similar role
Proficiency in 1 or more shell scripting
Basic problem analyses and debugging skill’s
Willingness to learn and gain practical experience
Other Qualifications:
Advanced degree in a related field is a plus
Relevant certifications or training a plus
