DESCRIPTION
The Junior Planner will support multi-disciplinary planning projects for Federal/Military (primarily Army, Navy, Air Force, and Space Force) clients and other State and Local Government Clients as needed. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience using CAD and/or Adobe Suite in a professional setting and will be be driven, intellectually curious, committed to excellence, and demonstrate a desire to make a difference in the communities we serve. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of planning concepts, and the ability to support facilitation during planning charrettes. The Junior Planner will have the opportunity to grow their technical skill sets, develop expertise, work directly with stakeholders, and support Federal clients across the U.S. and overseas.
· Strong knowledge of one or more planning disciplines, such as master planning, urban planning, community planning, economic development, or land use.
· Ability to conduct research and prepare planning reports and documents.
· Experience collecting, compiling, and analyzing a variety of quantitative and qualitative data.
· Availability to travel to client sites within the U.S. and overseas.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting reports and projects.
· Ability to provide deliverables in a timely manner and handle multiple tasks at one time.
· Ability to effectively communicate regarding data needs, priorities, and on support matters.
· Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams.
· This role requires U.S. Citizenship.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
U.S. Citizenship. Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field of study is preferred. Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). At least 2 years of experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and/or AutoCAD in a professional setting required AICP Candidate or demonstrated progress toward other related professional certification encouraged. Travel to client sites in the U.S. and overseas required (25%). Experience working with Federal clients preferred.
COMPENSATION
The range for this role is $57,569 - $90,671; this will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
