**About this role**
**Carrier HVAC in North America** has an opportunity for a **Junior Procurement Specialist** to join our team.
The **Junior Procurement Specialist** will be working **onsite** out of the **Charlotte NC location** .

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Complete processes, standards, and operational plans in support of procurement goals i.e., _Request for Proposals_ (RFPs), negotiations, cost accountability, and program execution
+ Work with cross-functional team to qualify and approve vendors to fulfill factory needs
+ Respond to factory and supplier issues or problems
+ Manage and process ECNs (engineering change notices)
+ Authorize and place purchase orders
+ Approve payments for a smooth procurement process
+ Prepare and review RFPs and bid packages
+ Monitor and analyze contract performance; ensure contractual obligations compliance
+ Work with global commodity leaders to develop category strategies
+ Develop supplier relationships for open communication channels; ensure prioritization for Carrier parts and challenges
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 3+ years of experience in a procurement or sourcing
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or finance
+ Driven employee with desire to grow in career
+ Strong analytical thinker
+ Listen and learn attentively to apply new knowledge effectively
+ English verbal oral and written communication
+ Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
