About the job:

Kent is looking for a Junior Procurement Specialist to be based in Houston, TX.

Their main duties include locating key suppliers, negotiating the company’s purchasing agreements and making sure their materials and products meet the company’s specifications.

Skills and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organizationEvaluate and negotiate contracts with vendorsTrack inventory and restock goods when neededStay up to date on industry trends and new productsCompare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricingAssist in the management and maintenance of contracts with vendorsAssist in the negotiation and drafting contract terms and conditionsEnsuring compliance with all related laws and regulationsAnalyzing and evaluating supplier performanceAssist in the creation of daily, monthly and quarterly reportsDevelop and maintain supplier relationshipsCoordinating with other departments

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:

Knowledge/ Qualification/ Training/ Certification:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field requiredStrong understanding of Supply Chain processesStrong MS Office skills5 years relevant experience in Supply Chain required

Communication:

Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills.
