Key Responsibilities:

General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring proper classification of transactions. Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, assign proper job codes, and manage payments. Project Accounting: Monitor and reconcile project-related expenses, ensuring accuracy in job costing and expense allocation. Sales Tax Reporting: Prepare and file sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with state and local tax regulations for New York State only. Accounts Receivable (AR): Generate client invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue accounts. Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry-specific financial regulations and company policies. Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card statement reconciliations. Payroll: Collect and process timesheets, ensuring employee hours are accurately recorded. Year-End Support: Assist with year-end accounting tasks such as 1099 filings and preparing documentation for audits. Other Duties: Handle additional accounting and administrative tasks as needed to support the Finance & Operation teams.

Requirements:

2-3 years of bookkeeping experience in the AEC industry. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, or similar). Strong understanding of project-based accounting and job costing. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of project accounting tailored to the AEC industry. Familiarity with AIA billing and construction contracts is ideal.

Work Schedule:

Optional Work from Home: Mondays and Fridays. Mandatory In-Office Work: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
