Our Operations team is currently working on projects located across the country from British Columbia to Newfoundland, with Alberta being the core of our operations. We have a reputation for excellence, and we are looking for like-minded individuals who would like to pursue a rewarding career. We are currently seeking a motivated Designer Engineer/Coordinator to join our team of professionals based out of Airdrie, AB. As a Design Engineer/Coordinator you will work as part of our Operations team to design and develop Engineered drawings for the above ground storage tank repairs we execute.Why work for usSafety as a core valueCompetitive compensationGain experience in mechanical storage tank repairsOpportunity for growth and development for all stages of your careerKey ResponsibilitiesAssist Project Managers/Engineers with the delivery of project drawing requirements as they relate to the repair scopePerform design and structural analysis including engineering calculations for a wide range of above ground storage tank repairsPrepare construction drawing and repair plans for above ground storage tank repairs and associated ancillary structuresWork to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural designsPromote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activitiesCollaborate with Field Supervisors, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordination and integration of structural designs and field deliverablesProcurement and shipping of shop fabrication and field repair materialCoordinate of third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projectsConduct site visits to assess construction progress and address any structural and/or design concernsJob Requirements2+ years experience in the Construction / Oil & Gas IndustryDiploma in Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) or Engineering Design & Drafting Technology as a minimum; Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or in a related field would be preferredStrong background with Autodesk Inventor and 3D modelingFamiliar with fabrication and construction processesKnowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office softwareExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey technical informationStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage a very high volume of projects and deadlinesMust be self-motivated and have the ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentFlexible and able to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlinesValid class 5 drivers’ licenseKnowledge of welding processes is an assetExperience in Storage Tank Construction or Repairs to be considered an assetKnowledge of API 650/653 is an assetKnowledge of AMSE B31.1/31.3 is an assetQualificationsEngineer in Training (E.I.T.) with eligibility and desire for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) Designation with APEGA after completion of work experience or,Technologist in Training (T.T) with eligibility and desire for registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) with ASET
