Junior Risk Manager in Qualitative Risk

Temporary (9 Months FTC)

 

The Risk Manager for the Global Qualitative Risk Management team will report directly to the Global Head of Qualitative Risk Management Team and will have global responsibility for the implementation of risk management programs.

 

They will be responsible for ensurifigneffective and efficient risk management processes and procedures are implemented and maintained in accordance with the Allianz Partners Global risk. management framework as well as regulations in force.

 

They will collaborate closely with first and second linevof.defense leaders across the company as well as with the LoB Risk Management teams to ensure timely and transparent identification, assessment and mitigation of risks across the LoB as well as to ensure that the internal control system is effectively integrated throughout the organization.

 

They will provide support for internal control programs and projects designed to identify and manage significant risks related between others to: Financial Reporting, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance and Operations.

 

The Risk Manager will also contribute to the Allianz Partners Global Risk Centre of Competences (CoCs) and, depending on the topic or seniority level of the Risk Manager, lead some of the CoCs.

 

What you do

 

Oversee, coordinate and lead qualitative Risk management topics across global locations as required. Act as Single Point of Contact for Risk topics across the organisation. Develop and maintain a good understanding of the Az Partners business and liaise closely with key stakeholders as required by ERM programs in their responsibility. Work with business units and provide risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives. Support the management, monitoring and reporting global business operations risks. Conduct risk assessments to determine impacts of risk issues and facilitate appropriate escalation and implementation of thedecisions. Provide feedback to inquiries relating to risk monitoring actions. Support and provide advice during decision-making processes. Monitor news around market and evaluate current and potential risk exposure. Identification of changing regulations and industry risk trends that may have an enterprise-wide impact. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of risk management activities. Participate in the organisation, as well as lead and present topics in the AZ Partners Risk Committee and other meetings as required Facilitate the Risk management process and provision of Risk management delivery support (this includes among others, the Top Risk Assessment and Internal Control Framework). Coordinate the effective implementation and maintaining of a network of Risk and Internal Control coordinators as well as the provision of risk training to the wider business. Promote a positive Risk Culture within the business.

 
What you bring

Leading and contributing to Global Risk initiatives. Support delivery of risk transformation through globalising risk programmes and upskilling the team to lead risk topics across AzP (in alignment with TOM). Responsibity at AzP Global level for contributing to (and leading where defined) global ERM Centres of Competence. Facilitate information sharing cross risk management teams (LoBs and global) in areas covered. Support AzP Global Top Risk Assessment including workshops with the Top Management team. Support AzP Global NFRM & ITRM risk programmes. Managing ad hoc topics for the AzP Head of Qualitiative Risk as they arise.

 

Stakeholder Engagement Responsibilities: Practice and encourage open and effective communication internally and externally in order to build and nurture effective working relationships. Lead an engaged internal control community to build strong partnerships with the business to ensure internal control processes are aligned with business needs and integrated within the organization. Develop and maintain effective working relations with internal and external parties, including but not limited to Top Management, extensive cross-functional interfaces and auditors to ensure the Internal Control Framework remains relevant and effective and provides adequate assurance. Manage and participate in the business meetings initiative with a focus on full coverage across all functions promoting the strategic business partnering ambition of the Risk function. The Junior Risk Manager brings relevant work experience and understanding of core business processes. This role requires the ability to
operate autonomously while still receiving guidance when necessary. The Junior Risk Manager will supervise area-specific technical
support and address medium complexity problems using practical experience and analytical skills.

 
What you offer

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience. Risk Management or internal control accreditation or Accounting or Auditing qualification. Understanding and knowledge of best practices and trends in Enterprise Risk Management and internal control frameworks. Relevant quantitative, Solvency II experience. Strong IT user skills, very good user knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Fluency in English. Risk Management Skills at ambition level. Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence stakeholders. Ability to exercise independent judgment. Excellent time management and ability to work on numerous tasks with multiple departments simultaneously. Highly motivated and proactive. High attention to detail. Takes ownership and responsibility. Customer focus. Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Team player, excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural context.
