Overview

Are you looking for a career in information security defending networks, systems, and data against cutting edge threats?  Are you the curious type who enjoys gaining a deep understanding of technology so that you can figure out how it can be broken and how it can be fixed? If so, then this position was engineered for you. 

 

In this role you'll learn how security technologies and practices can be applied to defend against today's threats by administering, supporting, and implementing technologies that manage and control access, detect and prevent malware and attacks, identify vulnerabilities and more.   This role will provide broad exposure to a myriad of information security technologies including Firewalls, Authentication Encryption Technologies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Antivirus, Remote Access, as well as Web and Email Security controls.  You'll need strong operating systems and TCP/IP knowledge to get started, but we can teach you the rest. 

 

How You’ll Learn:

 

At SIG, you learn the most by doing. With guidance and mentoring from your team, you’ll get hands-on experience beginning on your first day.  In addition, your team lead will work to create a customized development plan for your first 2 years.  The plan will focus on helping you get to know the technologies and platforms you’ll be working on, the people you’ll be working with, and what your team is responsible for.

What we're looking for
BS in Computer Science or Engineering or a similar technical majorMinimum of 6 months of experience in a network, security and/or systems administration function, or a similar role is requiredStrong grasp of TCP/IP, networking, operating systems fundamentals is requiredCoding skills are required (We use Python, Perl, Bash and PowerShell a lot in our group)
