This position requires a software developer\/engineer with some basic development experience to support existing projects. Tasks include but are not limited to software design, software development, unit test, integration, and configuration management. Work consists of developing new software and\/or upgrading existing software to meet customer and project requirements while using software engineering standards and tools. This may also involve unit testing, software\/system integration and test interface testing, creating & maintaining software documentation, and assisting with customer site installation and training.\n

Duties and Responsibilities\n\nUnderstand, create, and\/or modify application(s) using Linux, Windows, C++ and\/or Java\nSupport development, evaluation, system\/software integration, and test\nUnderstand and support maintenance of requirements and develop software designs\nCommunicate on a regular basis with customer and other functional team leads\nWork with teammates and receive mentoring in your role\nPosition is full time and located in Middletown RI\n\n

Requirements \/ Skills\n\nMinium 1 year Software Development experience\nBS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technology field\nObject-oriented software development, in C++ and\/or Java, or similar\nExperience with development under UNIX- or Linux-based systems\nStrong problem solving, application testing, and debugging capabilities\nEffective written and verbal skills\nAble to work and thrive in both individual and team coding environments\nPosition requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret-level security clearance with the US Government\n\n

Additional Skills of Interest (not required)\n\nUser Interface (UI) Development using Qt or similar tools\nExperience and interest in developing audio applications in Linux and Windows bases systems\nExperience developing complex 2D\/3D graphic applications\nUnderstanding and\/or experience with SQL\nDatabase administration and\/or database analyst experience\nExperience with Python, Jython, and testing frameworks\nLinux system administration as part of software development\nFamiliar with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) especially AMQP service development\nUnderstanding of agile and traditional software development life cycle (SDLC) approaches\nExperience in Navy programs especially Tactical Control System (TCS) software development \n\n
