Junior Software Developer - Studio in the Cloud

As a Junior Software Engineer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute to developing, delivering, and operating cloud services that will enable animation, film, and game development studios to migrate their entire production pipeline to the cloud.

The team is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of a new set of cloud services focused specifically on the digital media production industry. Product areas include virtual animation workstation service, digital asset management, high-performance storage, render farm as a service, license management, and production pipeline management services.

This is an opportunity to help build a competitive offering from the ground up and extend the reach of OCI to address greenfield opportunities in the media and entertainment industry. You will work with a talented group of software developers, designing scalable, highly available cloud services in a world-class cloud development environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Own the engineering delivery of an assigned part of the software solution. Work collaboratively with other developers, architects, managers, and Oracle teams to deliver features and launch new cloud services. Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may dent the team’s ability to execute.

Minimum Qualifications:

At least 1 year of software engineering work experience. Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems, and other computer science fundamentals. Working knowledge of object-oriented programming in one or more of Java, C#, Golang, C++, or similar OO languages. Solid troubleshooting and debugging skills of the used solution stack.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

Hands-on experience in building highly available, high-traffic, distributed services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Familiarity with concepts such as availability, observability, scalability, testability, recoverability, etc. Good understanding of developing customer-facing microservice-based architectures, and tiered architectures, including virtualization, containerization, and REST API interfaces. Previous experience in utilizing public cloud services from the current major providers (such as Oracle, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.) in developing complex software products. Domain knowledge and experience with workflows and pipelines for media production – digital asset management and namespaces, familiarity with 3d frameworks, universal scene description, scene graphs, layers and models, 3d data packaging, rendering workflows, image composition, tools used in the workflow by artists, engineers, editors, and content creators is a plus.
