Position Title: Junior Software EngineerLocation: Manassas VA (Hybrid - 1-2x per week on-site, otherwise remote)Clearance Requirement: Secret Clearance (Preferred)
Overview:We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer with a strong background in Linux environments and expertise in Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH scripting. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for problem-solving, a commitment to high-quality software development, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Prior Department of Defense (DOD) experience or an active Secret Clearance is highly preferred.
Responsibilities:Develop, test, and maintain software solutions using Java Spring and Python.Automate deployment and configuration tasks using Ansible.Write and optimize BASH scripts for system automation and management.Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Linux-based systems.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.Document software processes and ensure alignment with project requirements.Support integration with DOD-specific systems and ensure compliance with security protocols.
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Proficiency in Linux systems administration.Hands-on experience with Java Spring, Python, Ansible, and BASH scripting.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex software issues.Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.Prior experience working on DOD-related projects or systems.Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.Knowledge of secure software development practices and standards.
