Job Description
As a software engineer for Submarine Combat Systems, you will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering advanced mission capabilities to the US and Australian submarine forces. This role requires working with cutting-edge technologies and creating new code rather than just maintaining legacy systems. The position is based at our headquarters, which features updated facilities compared to most government integrators in the area.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop software solutions for submarine combat systems.Collaborate with a cross-functional team to deliver mission capabilities.Engage in software development using languages such as C++, Java, and Python.Work with Kubernetes, microservices, and other modern technologies.Utilize tools like Ansible, Helm, Prometheus, and Grafana for development and monitoring.Follow Agile methodologies for software development.Ensure compliance with Department of Defense security requirements.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.1+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.Proficiency in Red Hat/CentOS Linux.Experience in software development or advanced Python/bash scripting.Proficiency in C++ and Java programming.Knowledge of Kubernetes and microservices architecture.Experience with Ansible, Helm, Prometheus, and Grafana.Additional Skills & QualificationsDepartment of Defense Secret security clearance required at the time of hire.Strong understanding of software development processes.Creative thinker with problem-solving skills.Team player who excels in collaborative environments.Work Environment
The position is on-site in Fairfax until April, after which there will be some work-from-home flexibility. The role also offers a 9/80 work schedule if desired. The work environment includes updated facilities, and the team focuses on creating new technologies and code.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00
