Junior SSRS Developer

Our client is working through a migration from Crystal Reports to SSRS for their Pharmacy application. We are seeking an experienced SSRS Developer to collaborate in the migration of existing Crystal Reports to Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS 2022). This role involves analyzing current Crystal Reports, developing SSRS reports, ensuring data accuracy, and optimizing reports for performance and usability in SSRS. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in both Crystal Reports and SSRS, with a deep understanding of SQL Server and Oracle databases and reporting best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Report Development and Conversion:
o Migrate Crystal Reports to SSRS, ensuring all features, formulas, and business rules are accurately replicated.
o Implement SSRS-specific features (e.g., parameters, sub-reports, drill-downs) to improve report usability and functionality.
o Design, develop, and deploy reports using SSRS, ensuring high-quality, visually appealing, and interactive reports tailored to business requirements.
o Work with stakeholders to define report requirements, scope, and user specifications.
SQL Querying & Data Integration:
o Write efficient SQL queries to retrieve data from databases, ensuring accuracy and performance optimization.
o Design and implement complex datasets, stored procedures, and views to support report generation.
o Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure reports reflect the most accurate and up-to-date information.
• Report Optimization & Performance Tuning:
o Analyze report performance and make recommendations for improvements.
o Optimize queries and data processing logic to reduce report generation time and enhance user experience.
o Monitor report execution, troubleshoot performance issues, and apply necessary fixes.
• Report Scheduling & Security:
o Set up and maintain report subscriptions, scheduling, and security access to ensure timely and secure delivery of reports to users.
o Implement role-based access control to restrict access to sensitive data.
Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
