We are currently seeking talented individuals for our Junior Staff Accountant position!
Here is some of what you’ll do…
POSITION SUMMARY:
Hawthorne Machinery Company covers San Diego County, Hawaii and other Pacific Islands. Our growing company is currently in need of a responsible individual to fill the position of Junior Staff Accountant. We are looking for a multi-skilled candidate who can balance accounting with good people skills. This position provides financial and administrative support to the organization. Involved in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting functions to support Accounting.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accounts Receivable
Apply payments received to accounts in a timely manner. Prepare deposits for multiple entities - ensure accurate depositsResolve account discrepancies by investigating documentationAccounts Payable
Entry of and process vendor invoicesProcess & prepare payment of vendor invoices for multiple companiesCommunicate and coordinate with vendorsGeneral accounting
Assist with general ledger account reconciliations and bank reconciliations as needed.Extensive knowledge of debit/credit accountingAssist with journal entries as needed.Understanding of corporate business licenses, familiarity with registration processes. QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance preferredMinimum 1-year related accounting and finance experience1-3 years’ experience in a corporate environment.Ability to communicate effectively – strong verbal, listening and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirementsProtect organization’s value by keeping information confidentialStrong attention to detail, accuracy is imperativeExcellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to be an effective team member and display initiativeIntermediate Excel and Outlook skillsPHYSICAL DEMANDS:
