Description We are looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to join our team in Ithaca, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and involves a range of accounting duties. You will be required to handle tasks related to Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, and General Ledger. Responsibilities: • Accurately process accounts payable and receivable transactions. • Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy. • Maintain and update the general ledger on a regular basis. • Prepare and post journal entries as required. • Assist in the month-end close process to ensure timely reporting. • Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite and QuickBooks for various accounting tasks. • Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. • Maintain accurate customer credit records. • Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency. • Resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts in a timely manner. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. • Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite and QuickBooks. • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Familiarity with bank reconciliation procedures and general ledger operations. • Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately. • Experience with month-end close processes. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Problem-solving abilities and analytical skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
