A medium sized company is looking for a Junior Systems Engineer. You will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure and systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation and a passion for learning and problem-solving. As a Junior Systems Engineer, you will work closely with senior engineers and IT staff to ensure smooth operations and efficient system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, operating systems, and applications. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and reliability. Support system upgrades, patches, and other maintenance activities. Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement solutions for system improvements and enhancements. Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and security. Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps. Respond to and resolve technical support requests from end-users in a timely manner. Participate in on-call support rotation as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network fundamentals. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Eagerness to learn new technologies and grow within the field of systems engineering. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) are advantageous but not required.
