Job Title: Junior Youth Worker



Job Summary: 

 

Our Education, Enrichment and Career Services department is seeking a Junior Youth Worker. The Junior Youth Worker will support the development and implementation of programs that engage and inspire youth. This role involves providing mentorship, assisting with program activities, and creating a safe, positive environment for participants. The Junior Youth Worker will work closely with senior youth workers to build relationships and create impactful experiences for participants. The Education, Career, and Enrichment (ECE) department at CASES specializes in serving youth and young adults impacted by the criminal legal system. The Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program seeks a Youth Worker that can develop transformative relationships with participants of an innovative South Bronx and Harlem neighborhood-based program for young men who may not have started but can strive to overcome threatening environments and system involvement to find the path to educational achievement, vocational training, and employment. The young people ACES serves will be engaged in high-risk behaviors. Services through ACES happen primarily in the community. ACES serves young men ages 16-24 who reside in East Harlem and the South Bronx.  


 

Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 10am-6pm


Location Address: 4 West 125th Street New York, NY 10027.


Workplace Flexibility: In-Person- (staff roles designated as fully in person are eligible for in- person workplace differential pay).


Salary: The hourly salary for the Junior Youth Worker is $22.00 per hour.

 
 

What you will be doing:  

Assist in the planning and execution of youth programs and events. Serve as a positive role model and mentor for youth participants. Engage youth in discussions and activities that promote their social, emotional, and personal growth. Support the development of creative and educational content for workshops and activities. Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, addressing any behavioral issues with empathy and fairness. Help with administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records and preparing materials. Collaborate with senior youth workers and program coordinator to assess program needs and outcomes. Build relationships with youth and community stakeholders to enhance program participation. Stay informed of current youth development and community issues and practices to integrate them into activities.

What we are looking for:  

High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with the youth who have been justice impacted.Ability to work with youth in a professional capacity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Creativity and problem-solving skills.
