Position Summary
The Security Officer K9 is a key position on our Security Services team. In this role, you provide protection over MultiCare Health System properties and facilities. You will own the responsibility for the security and safety of MultiCare patients, employees and visitors.Responsibilities
You will employ MultiCare’s risk management program to identify, prevent, and minimize risk, and stop work in the event of immediate threat to life and safetyYou will conduct daily walkthroughs of facilities, investigate safety hazards, prepare reports, make recommendations to correct safety hazards and monitor status of deficiencies noted for operational leadershipYou will work closely with all levels of staff and management, government regulatory agencies, local emergency agencies, and Safety and other hospital contractors in exercise of dutiesYou will communicate effectively with your teamYou will engage with work with a service-oriented attitude, professional integrity, and attention to detailRequirements
High school graduate or equivalent preferredSuccessful completion of K-9 Handler’s course within 3 months of assignment to K-9 Officer positionCompletion of K-9 Handler’s course as identified by the Director of Security within 45 days of assignment and successful maintenance of certification ongoingCurrent Washington state driver’s licenseCurrent BLS Certification, or obtained within 7 days of placement in jobMinimum two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or public contract security, or one year of healthcare security experienceWill consider similar experience in law enforcement or military in lieu of hospital settingExperience with and knowledge of security/law enforcement canine handling is preferredProof of a safe driving record (which meets established MultiCare Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate stateOur Values

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.33 - $35.01 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
