Job Description
This position focuses on providing exceptional care for cats and dogs in a leading pet food palatability (flavor) company. You will not be required to interact with customers, allowing you to dedicate your time entirely to animal care.
ResponsibilitiesMaintain kennels and facility areas ensuring they are organized, sanitized, and free of odors.Feed cats and dogs on schedule and ensure they have access to clean water.Use provided pet toys to play and socialize with animals.Bathe and groom animals as needed.Prepare pet food for scheduled feedings and weigh leftover food for proper disposal.Maintain documentation on dogs and cats, updating information accordingly.Foster a supportive and collaborative environment.Provide exceptional care for all animals.Essential SkillsExperience in animal research, handling, and science.Experience around large groups of animals is preferred.Demonstrated experience with jobs that require being on your feet and performing cleaning duties.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.Additional Skills & QualificationsH.S. Diploma required.6 months or more of animal care experience in a veterinary environment, kennel, or shelter is strongly preferred.Experience in farm work, grooming, pet stores, shelters, humane societies, vet clinics, vet hospitals, animal husbandry, breeding, or vivarium work.Work Environment
This role supports the Palatability Assessment Resource Center (PARC) to administer taste trials with animals. The facility is advanced and maintains high expectations for constant activity. The work is team-oriented, but accountability is emphasized. Employees will be exposed to outdoor temperatures year-round and are expected to reach up to 10,000 steps daily. Rotational shifts include weekends and holidays, with a set two-week schedule. The facility does not close for inclement weather, so employees must ensure they can commute or stay if necessary. This role includes the possibility of voluntary extended hours in such situations.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50
