Kennel Assistant (PT)
Happy Trails Pet Spa and Resort offers pet services including dog daycare, dog and cat boarding, and grooming. We serve Northern Colorado and we are conveniently located between Loveland, Windsor, Greeley and Ft. Collins. We are your one-stop shop for pet care! At Happy Trails Pet Spa & Resort our Kennel Workers are responsible for providing a clean, efficient and healthy environment for the animals in daycare, boarding and grooming at our facility A day in the life of a Kennel Worker: Maintain the cleanliness of the resort, including kennel area, cat boarding room, outside play yards, outside grounds and other areas as directed. Feed appropriate food/amount to pets we are caring for when necessary. Monitor and record important information about the pets conditions, behavior and habits (elimination, eating, etc.). Providing enrichments to pets like walks, 1-on-1 playtimes, snuggles, homemade treats, etc. as directed. Notify manager or appropriate personnel of unusual medical or behavioral problems. Maintain dishes and laundry throughout the day and keep food prep area clean and organized at all times. Monitor and maintain the kennel inventory to include food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc. Monitorning playgroups of dogs, monitoring their behavior towards each other and staff, ensuring the safety of the dogs, safety of the yourself and other staff members assisting in playgroup. Completing other duties as assigned by the Pet Resort Manager or other leadership to ensure optimal care of pets, customer service, and overall operation of the resort. High School diploma or GED required. Must be able to work at least one weekend day and some major holidays. Must be able to work shifts that range from 6.5-8.5 hours. Must have computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment and be able to manage stressful situations. Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. Must be able to stand for long periods of time - potentially up to 9 hours. Previous experience of 1 consecutive year or more working at a dog daycare and/or a boarding facility for dogs and cats highly preferred.
