Title: Kettle Campaign Coordinator                                                          

Location: 1340 Brown St. Philadelphia, PA 19123

Reports To: Community Relations and Marketing Senior Executive Manager

Availability: Weekday/Weekend

Schedule:  Wednesday - Saturday, 10 hours per day. Hours will vary pending kettle agreements.

Salary and Grade: 74, $17 per hour

 

Position Overview: The Kettle Campaign Manager is a seasonal position, operating from the date of hire until January 25th, 2025. The Kettle Campaign Manager will be responsible for The Salvation Army, Greater Philadelphia’s City-Wide kettle campaign. They will manage a series of Red Kettle initiatives directly, while serving as a resource in best-practices for Greater Philadelphia Corps Community Centers, and reporting on the Red Kettle campaign results to Salvation Army Leadership.

Responsibilities

Description of Position:

Plan, support, and execute The Salvation Army, Greater Philadelphia’s Red Kettle campaign.Assist with securing permissions from corporate partners through effective communication and relationship-building.Manage select tabletop, street-based, digital, and other Red Kettle efforts with a goal of raising $25,000Recruit and strategically place paid and volunteer bell-ringers at high foot-traffic locations based on data.When necessary, drop off and pick up Kettle workers to their designated stands.Responsible for setting up kettle stands, workers, at designated locations throughout the appropriate area.When necessary, ring a bell at a Red Kettle station that is otherwise vacant.Ensure all kettle income is accounted for and secured.Enter data pertaining to Red Kettle income, and report on said data to Salvation Army leaders weekly.Manage The Salvation Army’s kettle-based electronic giving platform and software, sharing tips and best practices with other locations as appropriate.Assist with Campaign wrap-up and reporting.Perform other tasks as needed, are appropriate, and assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:  

BS or BA degree preferred, ideally in relevant field such as Business, Sales, Communication, OR equitable customer service, business, or other relevant experience.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to relate effectively, reliably, and professionally with corporate professionals and others.Must be able to effectively multitask with deadlines and follow through consistently and strategically.Must be well-organized, proactive, able to work independently and follow-up accordingly.  Must be computer proficient, able to easily and effectively use email, Microsoft Office applications, Google Suite and donor and volunteer management software.Must demonstrate good judgement, leadership characteristics and work well as part of a team. Able to work effectively and in harmony with officers, staff and volunteers.Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel as needed, flexible on scheduling (including attendance at early morning, evening or weekend meetings/events.Adherence to the AFP Code of Ethics.Adherence to TSA's Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
