Position Summary:

Performs echocardiograms using ultrasound equipment in accordance with established practices and procedures for Kootenai Heart Clinics.

 

PRN (As Needed ) -Day Shift 

 

Responsibilities:


Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies cardiologists of results of examinations
Consults with cardiologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements
Calibrate and maintains equipment when needed, maintains operational logs
Performs a variety of tasks
Works under general supervision
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

   

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:


Associate’s degree (AAS) or equivalent, from a CAAHEP accredited college or technical school in Echocardiography or; experience and training necessary for designation of “Registry Eligible” in Echocardiography required
ARDMS credentialed in RDCS or CCI credentialed in RCS required within 6 months of hire
BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation

       

Working Conditions:


Must be able to maintain a standing position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch or bend
Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
