Our Team 

We’re looking for a Risk MI & Insights Senior Specialist to support us in our contribution to the Virgin Money purpose: to protect customers and stop bad people doing bad things through our firm.

Our team supports several key areas of 2LOD Economic Crime Risk, including the Business Wide Risk Assessment (BWRA), change management, regulatory reporting, monthly reporting and governance, insightful analysis and the many BAU aspects of running a team.

We are looking for a proactive MI and Insights Senior Specialist to lead the development and maintenance of 2LOD EC MI, support data quality improvement initiatives and provide insights on the EC risk profile of the bank. 

What you’ll be doing

Building MI & Insights Capability by: 

Managing the development and maintenance of Economic Crime (fraud, sanctions, anti-money laundering, etc) MI and dashboards using PowerBI/Query and Excel to support reporting by managers and senior leaders, ensuring issues are escalated as required. Responsible for developing and owning the 2LOD MI which provides insight to the 2LOD stakeholders and helps the bank to effectively manage economic crime risk (fraud, sanctions, anti-money laundering, etc) and protect its customers. Conducting regular reviews of metrics and thresholds, including Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) metrics, by engaging with stakeholders and escalating issues where appropriate through governance to ensure MI is kept relevant to changing risk requirements. Providing insight on changes to the EC risk profile of the bank by analysing MI and available data, engaging with stakeholders where gaps exist and cleansing data where required. Supporting the 1LOD Hub and change programmes with data quality improvement initiatives and ensuring that 2LOD requirements are considered.  Use own knowledge to provide subject matter advice, appropriate challenge and escalation where necessary. Ensuring appropriate governance documentation is in place and maintain this documentation as MI requirements change. Leading on the MI and data requirements for projects within the Governance and Insights team including owning the Model requirements for the BWRA, including data manipulation, ad hoc MI requests, support reporting requirements. Supporting wider team governance requirements such as the providing input to the monthly board reporting cycle.  Working closely with various teams/projects including the BWRA project, change projects, 1LOD Hubs, 2LOD teams to understand evolving MI requirements and data quality challenges. 

We need you to have

Demonstrable advanced PowerBI and excel experience and knowledge Proven experience leading the development of MI Previous experience working in a Financial Crime environment (i.e. sanctions management, AML, ABC) Expert in creating written reports using multiple sources to provide insightful commentary supported by MI The natural ability to professionally manage stakeholders and form effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. 

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

Experience working within financial services Hold a relevant professional and/or financial services qualification e.g. Chartered Banker or Diploma/Advanced Certificate in AML or equivalent financial crime prevention qualification.
