Job Description
Current program hours are 8:45am-1:15pm and 4:15pm-7:45pm on the weekdays and 8:15am-11:45am Saturdays. Must be available to work any/all of the shifts.The salary for this position starts at $17.00. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
+ Job Summary:
The Kids Stuff Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership to the Kids Stuff team. Deliver quality care to children in a positive and nurturing environment while their caregivers are using YMCA facilities. The incumbent is responsible for recruiting, staffing, training, and supervision of the kids’ stuff team and handles the day-to-day operations.
+ Essential Functions:
+ Recruit, hire, on-board, train, develop and supervise kids stuff team members.
+ Plan, supervise, manage kids/team member ratios and implement program and program activities.
+ Create team member schedules and find coverage for open shifts.
+ Adhere to YMCA expectations and policies and ensure they are followed by all kids stuff team members.
+ Provide work direction, coach and mentor program staff while on duty.
+ Perform administrative activities to support the program, which could include spreadsheet tracking, maintaining adequate supplies, submitting purchasing needs, overseeing online reservation calendars, or tracking staff trainings and certifications.
+ Demonstrate high level of customer service, enhancing the member, program participant and guest experience and satisfaction.
+ Serve as a member of the branch management team performing specific duties which support the overall success of branch operations.
+ Participate in branch meetings and lead Kids Stuff team meetings.
+ Hands-on in Kids Stuff approximately 75% of scheduled hours.
+ 5 hours designated to admin work
+ Relationships:
The incumbent supervises the Kids Stuff team members. This position reports to the Executive Director or Branch Director who reports to the Associate Vice President of Operations. The incumbent works closely with the branch management team and other Association staff.
+ Qualifications:
Required
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ One (1) year supervisory experience.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Creative thinker with a history of applying innovation in programming.
+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
+ Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
+ Organized with strong attention to detail.
+ Ability to manage programs to a diverse population.
+ Required certifications: BLS, First Aid and Oxygen Administration

+ Bi/Multilingual
+ Work Conditions:
+ Perform all physical aspects of the position, including being mobile, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.
+ Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.
+ May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment.
+ Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.
+ Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
